Developer update: App enhancements

Improvement

Here’s a roundup of updates we’ve made to make building apps on Kit easier and easier for developers

  • Bulk remove tags: You can now remove tags from subscribers in bulk via the API for apps, greatly reducing the number of calls to the API when syncing large accounts.
  • Form subscriber attribution: The Forms endpoint now includes referrer data in our V4 API, unlocking the ability for you to retrieve subscriber attribution information.
  • Help text for your app: Add in helper tool tips for your plugins to guide creators who are using your app to get the best experience and outcome.
  • Searchable app plugins: With the slash (/) command in the email editor, creators can more conveniently pull up the content of your apps by searching by app name or the app description.
  • Plugin configuration improvements: You can now create search fields that are dependent, only appearing to creators when a previous value is selected. Not only that, we also now pre-fetch the search values as soon as a plugin is added to an email!
  • Plugin loading spinner: When a creator is adding in content from your app, there is now a loading spinner to give creators a better user experience.
  • Support for the plugin OAuth setup: Setting up OAuth is now more straightforward with help text to walk you through each step of the process.
  • More filters in the app store: We’ve introduced a new update to the app store so you can easily find the apps you’ve created, allowing you to test end-to-end flows as quickly and easily as possible.

Add any image to your emails—now with WebP support

Improvement

Kit now works with whatever images you have—JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP—so you can focus on crafting great emails instead of converting files.

NOTE: For better compatibility with email clients, we'll convert your uploaded WebP files to JPG files. This also means that animated WebP files will become static images showing just the first frame of the animation.

Upload your WebPs to your next broadcast, landing page, or form and see how much time you save.

One snippet, endless uses

Improvement

Ever find yourself typing out the same product description, bio, or disclaimer for the tenth time? We get it. That's why we've made it easy to duplicate your snippets.

Turn any content snippet into a template with our copy feature. Duplicate your most-used content, make quick adjustments as needed, and save new versions in seconds.

Each saved version appears in your snippet menu, ready to drop into future emails. Perfect for reusing your best content, keeping messaging consistent, and maintaining accurate product details or legal text across campaigns.

Copy your snippets in a snap.

The complete timestamp for your broadcasts are back

Improvement

We heard it was difficult to keep track of your ever-growing library of broadcasts when we took the year off the Index page—so we brought it back.

Now every broadcast carries its complete timestamp, year and all. Spot any broadcast's exact place in your content timeline, making historical analysis swift—no scrolling or guessing needed. Analyze your broadcast timeline at a glance.

Personalize emails with Creator Network referral data

Improvement

When someone makes a personal introduction for you, what do you do? You thank them! It’s also the most natural way for you to then build a connection with the person you just met because you have a friend in common.

With the new Creator Network referrer conditional, you can do just that. Customize your email content by displaying personalized messages of who recommended your content to them, making your emails even more relevant and engaging.

With this feature you can:

  • Reference the creator who recommended your subscriber using Liquid: {{ subscriber.recommendations.referrer.name }}
  • Create conditional content based on the creator who recommended your subscriber using the Personalization block

Try it out in your next email to subscribers gained through Recommendations, or add it to your welcome Sequence to make it more personal.

For more information on how to set this up, check out this Knowledge Base article.
