Email editor: Shortcuts, custom CSS, and deliverability alerts

Improvement

Simple and powerful updates to our email editor are here to improve your writing experience and your email marketing efforts.

  • Slash menu: Easily add in blocks by typing in the slash / character to search and add the block you need as you're writing your email. No need to stop and hover over the + button.
  • Custom CSS: Under each Section > Advanced of your email, you can set up custom CSS which you can later use to target in an HTML block. Particularly handy if you share your posts on your own website.
  • Deliverability alert: When your email is too large, it risks being clipped by email clients, like Google, which affects the deliverability of your emails. Now, when you're drafting your email, you'll get an alert if it is over 100KB.

Keep writing and we'll keep delivering new updates that make that experience even better.

Integrations: Gravity Forms

Improvement

A native integration with Gravity Forms is here! Gravity Forms is a powerful WordPress form builder that create beautiful lead generation forms, accept online payments, create surveys and quizzes, or build custom forms for niche solutions!

With the ConvertKit Add-On by Gravity Forms you can automatically send all form entries to your ConvertKit dashboard, enabling you to easily grow and manage your email list. Here are some features the new add-on include...

  • Custom Fields—Every field on your form can be mapped directly to a custom field in ConvertKit. Collect more information on your subscribers and use that data to deliver highly optimized campaigns.
  • Tag Support—Keeping track of large number of subscribers can be quite a task to take on. By attaching tags to your subscribers, you can keep them organized, helping to provide a tailored content experience.
  • Creator Network Recommendations—You can easily display Recommendations after form submission, encouraging users to sign up to other email lists and follow other creators.

For creators currently using the ConvertKit plugin for Gravity Forms should use this new native add-on for more updated features. Any existing settings will automatically migrate once the new add-on is installed and active.

    Email editor: New sections

    Improvement

For all Starting Point templates, we’ve rolled out the ability to add new sections to your Broadcasts and Sequences in your email editor. This will make it even easier and smoother for you to build out your email as you’re writing it. For any sections, you’ll be able to:

    • Add new sections: Any new added sections will retain the same design preferences as the section you’re adding from. This is super helpful if you have a block-style email design.
    • Duplicate sections: This will duplicate all the content within the section as well. This is super helpful if you want to reuse layouts you’ve already designed.
    • Reorder sections: Not sure where you want your content? The arrow buttons make it easy for you to reorder how the content is laid out in your email. No need to recreate or copy and paste it over.
    • Delete sections: Need to cut some content? Simple way to just delete a whole section. (Don’t worry! You can Command/CTRL+Z to undo and bring it back if you need to.)

As usual, we hope this makes building your email an even better experience. Go build out your next email broadcast!

Broadcasts: New publishing flow & reporting

    Feature

Upgrades are coming to our email broadcasts! We have two major changes that'll make publishing newsletters easier and give you more insights into how your subscribers are interacting with your content.

    • Deliver your content how you want: For any new broadcasts, you'll have a new publishing flow that allows you to deliver your broadcast, by sending it as an email to your subscribers, publishing it to the web, or both.
    • Overview reporting: After your broadcasts has been sent or published, you'll now have a new overview of how your content is performing, including a preview of the content, total recipients, email analytics, and web analytics.
    • New analytics tab: You'll see the results of any A/B testing you've done, full email metrics with an engagement funnel, and web metrics.
    • New recipient tab: You'll be able to filter by subscribers who received the email, opened the email, clicked in the email, and unsubscribed from your list. You'll also be able to manage these segments with bulk actions.
    • New clicks tab: You'll see an overview of all the links you had in your broadcast and the engagement on each link.
